Getting started

At Europcar we strive to make your car or van hire experience as simple as possible. Here we have put together various topics of useful information, advice and help related to your electric vehicle hire.

Step 1

Take the key of the vehicle or hold it close enought to the car.

Step 2

Push the button located on the door handle to unlock the vehicle or reach into the front handle recess of a front door.

Step 3

The car is now unlocked, you can open the doors

Step 1

Close the driver's door. Press the brake

Step 2

Press the brake. Press the Start/Stop button. An acoustic signal sounds. Drive-ready state is switched on.

Step 3

The READY indicator shows that the vehicle is ready to drive

Step 1

Apply the brake until ready to drive off, otherwise the vehicle will move when drive position or reverse gear is selected.

Step 2

With the driver's seat belt fastened, briefly tap the selector lever in the desired direction, beyond a resistance point if required. The selector lever returns to the centre position in each case.

Step 3

Press the EV button while depressing the brake pedal in P or N. Start the vehicle in P for the safety.

Step 1

When you are in a safe and appropriate parking spot, keep your feet on the brake and shift the vehicle into 'Park' or 'P' mode using the gearbox.

Leave the vehicle and ensure all doors are properly closed.

Lock the car with the key or press the button on the outside door handle.

Step 1

The charging socket flap is located in the rear on the right side of the vehicle. To connect, engage selector lever position P, deactivate drive-ready state and unlock the vehicle. Apply parking brake if necessary.

Step 2

To open the charging socket flap, press on the rear edge, arrow. The charging socket flap opens. Remove the cover from the charging cable connector if necessary, and plug the appropriate cord in.

Step 3

Unlock by pressing the button on the left side of the socket. Charging is complete. The charging cable is unlocked for a short time. Remove the charging cable and close the charging port cover, then press it until it clicks into place.
